Mongoose News. Ish. More Rumour, Really.

The latest update from my Corporate Overlords at Mongoose Publishing is that, due to a quirk of the new printing press they're using, they can't currently do 32-page books. Instead, apparently, they plan to combine The Sweep of Unhistory and My First Treason into a single stately 64-page book. The exact format and title of this product have yet to be determined, or at least, yet to be revealed to me.

The PARANOIA applicability of technical issues forcing two entirely separate but utterly vital pieces of equipment to be combined into a single entity is left as an exercise to the reader.

Comments:
I propose adding an explaining disclaimer that due to the printing press thingy...

And also an additional dotted line in the middle of the book for the purist.

Anytime Paranoia and real-world bureaucratic oopsies cross paths, it makes me giggle.

I'm still chomping at the bit to get this, in whatever form it takes.

The obvious name for the combination of these two books is "Sweep of Treason". The premise would be that there's a high-ranking citizen reflecting on his First Treason, who decides that it would be a Good Thing if that treason were Swept into Unhistory.

Granted that would probably require some rewriting, but how bad could that be?

---

BTW, does this printing incapability have anything to do with why the Flashbacks titles are no longer on the site?

Thirty-two page books are too small anyway :)
At least these two missions have something in common, i.e. expanding Paranoia beyond the stereotypical scenario, so it shouldn't feel too forced.
Good to have some solid info from Mongoose on the Case of the Vanishing Supplements.

Err... okay...

I assume these are about the same theme? If not, then that's half a book being paid for that may not be required... and if it is then why isn't it just a 64 page Sweep of Unhistory or My First Treason? Very confusing and possibly corporate thinking there...

Bweh. I wanted (and pre-ordered) only one of them. I guess I'll have to miss out on it if the only option will be to buy both at about double the price...

This is ironic considering Mongoose's new printers were meant to make them more flexible in the size of the books that they printed, not less!
