Paranoia-Live.net dead badger party

Those citizens new to the perpetually active forums on Paranoia-Live.net quickly discover its many "out-of-character" (OOC) discussions of the PARANOIA RPG and other vital subjects of the day. But newcomers may only gradually grow aware of the "in-character" (IC) forums, where several dozen active roleplayers are playing out their simulated daily lives in Alpha Complex.

The IC forums are probably similar to any number of online forum RPGs around the Web -- I haven't looked into the topic at all. Maybe they all have security clearance systems, and character inventories, and an economy. But I'll speculate to this extent: I suspect few other forum roleplaying games have ever featured a tea party with a dead badger. Note the custom dead-badger smileys. Paranoia-Live.net leads the way again!

"I've no idea what led up this," says P-L.net mastermind Andy "Jazzer" Fitzpatrick. "But it's just one of several dozen things going on right now. It's absolute madness. It's turned into a kind of twisted social experiment. What's also remarkable is the general lack of BS or powergaming or anything like that. They're just getting on with it. Whatever 'it' is."

Jazzer has advertised for volunteer PHP programmers who are willing to make Paranoia-Live.net an even more tumultuous place. If that's possible.

Comments:
...we have a DEAD BADGER SMILEY?

*checks to make sure that in fact, today is NOT Rabbit Hole Day*

Crud! That badger was supposed to dance for our meeting!

I'm more interested in the fact that the badger was 'killed' twice...by the same bot. That is very, very werid.

You're amazed by the lack of powergaming? Consider the system that they're there to celebrate. If there was ever a system in which powergaming was anathema, Paranoia is it. The participants know that the fun will happen, they just have to let it.

No, seriously. If you make non-commercial use of stuff here, that's fine, but we reserve all commercial rights, and all rights to prepare derivative material on things posted here. In addition, posters of comments must be aware that we reserve the right to use whatever material they post here, and/or derivative works therefrom, in PARANOIA, supplementary products, licensed products, or derivative work, without any compensation whatever, for all time to come and throughout this universe and any alternate universes that may be discovered. At our discretion, and without obligation, we may, if it strikes our fancy, make a good faith effort to credit you for stuff we use, but we can't promise it won't slip our minds, in the hurly-burly of meeting deadlines. (Actually, we intend to do that, but it's possible we'll screw up.) By posting comments, you grant us a non-revocable, perpetual, non-exclusive license to use whatever you post, in whatsoever fashion we deem useful, here or in any other forum, in PARANOIA or in any and all future products, including but not limited to derivative works, and specifically but not exclusively including the microbrewery beer, ale and porter; salty and sugary snack; and tattoo design rights deriving therefrom. Woohoo! Is that enough legalese for you? The Computer is Your Friend.
