Mister Bubbles mission briefing in Flash

A belated holiday gift from Andrew Babb of Hoody Hoo Cartoons to PARANOIA fans: a brilliant, must-see Flash animation of the "Mister Bubbles" Troubleshooter briefing presented in the core rulebook's introductory mission.

Andrew writes, "I've also managed to create a version [of the briefing] that can be downloaded and played on a Sony PlayStation Portable -- turning a PSP into a PDC, so to speak." (The PDC, or Personal Digital Companion, is the indispensable electronic assistant for every Alpha Complex citizen.) "I thought it would make a good show of how a portable device could be used to show briefings and the like."

Andrew previously made the excellent PARANOIA-inspired TreasonHackers Flash cartoon in March 2002. He based it on a strip from the long-running Knights of the Dinner Table comic. (I talked about "TreasonHackers" on this blog in December 2004; scroll down to the December 9th entries.)

I passed Andrew's "Mister Bubbles" link along to Greg Ingber of the Traitor Recycling Studio. Greg responded, "That is, like, the greatest thing ever. I'm going to send this link to everyone I've tried to explain PARANOIA to."

Multiple commendation points to Andrew for his superior work!

Comments:
Wow! That warms my cold heart and brings a tear of joy to my twitchy eye. Man, that is cool.

Brilliant. Brilliant!

Now I have to learn how to do stuff like that and bring a laptop with me whenever I run a game. Mission briefings just won't have the same impact anymore if they're not like that :(

I can't stop watching it! It's excellent! Computer bless Andy Babb. Perhaps we should deem him the One True PARANOIA Flash Artist?

I wonder what treason he committed to attain such excellent programming skills. This is going to be a classic.

He's been doing that stuff for a while; was and still is, a big fan of his Hoody Hoo KoTD cartoons. Even got an honorable mention in one of them for coming up with the special ending.

We should name him the Electronic Mindclone of the One True Paranoia Artist. It seems more... fitting.

Here's some new shti to look @:

Wow. I am humbled by all your comments for my work. I thank you all for your words and will happily flaunt my new title in the next news post!

As far as the FastClick business, I looked at the ads I post at the top of the page. The company is FastClick, but when I signed to have put ads on my site way back when, they were just serving ads and not trying to sneak spyware in. I have since commented out their malicious code, soon to be deleted. I do apologize as that was my one great fear with putting up any type of ads on my site, that someone would take advantage. If anyone will be messing with malicious code, it's Friend Computer, Dammit!

This should take care of the FastClick crap. If it still shows up, please let me know.
